The itineraries on this website are the culmination of a lot of hard but very rewarding work. Although I have been visiting battlefields, cemeteries, and memorials for more than 30 years, I went back to Europe once I knew I wanted to create this website and carefully measured and recorded travel times and distances between sites as well as accessibility and the number of Canadian burials in every cemetery I visited. When I returned home, I took my notes, my maps and my photos and used them to re-create the illustrative routes that you will find in the itineraries.
